Sport

Physical activity is actively encouraged at RJ with a great sports offering to enhance physical fitness and the overall well-being of our students.

Co-curricular activities help our students physically

Active and focused physical
activity is a high priority

Sport is an integral part of school life, offering students a multitude of benefits beyond the playing field. It cultivates discipline, teamwork, and resilience. Engaging in sports activities enhances physical fitness and overall well-being, fostering a healthier lifestyle from a young age. Moreover, it provides a platform for students to build lasting friendships, learn to manage victory and defeat gracefully. The camaraderie and sense of belonging that sports offer is significant and creates memories and experiences that shape students into well-rounded individuals. At RJ, sport is not just about winning or losing; it's about nurturing character, promoting well-being, and fostering a sense of unity and accomplishment.

Sport, General

In Junior School, we have an excellent JS Sports Leader to optimise the development of students’ gross motor and ball skills in a range of activities. Younger students are involved in a Mini-Athletics Day and Swim School. Older students from Year 3 can also compete in various interschool sport competitions in Terms 2 and 3 and a variety of Gala Days, with opportunities to progress through to State and National levels via the Christian Schools Sports Association. Before School and after School sport clinics are offered in Junior School and vary from term to term e.g. soccer, basketball, tennis

In Senior School, we have a fantastic PDHPE & Sport Faculty Leader to facilitate our sports programs. Senior School students (Years 7-10) have sports on Tuesday afternoon with Year 7 starting the year with a swimming program in Term 1, together with PDHPE classes.

Beyond traditional sports like soccer and netball, students may also participate in lifestyle options such as:

  • Kick Boxing & Fitness
  • Ten Pin Bowling
  • Tennis
  • Trampolining
  • Rock Climbing
  • Rollerskating

Our annual events encourage healthy competition and are a pathway to Zone, State and National Competitions
